MANILA, Philippines: The defending champs De La Salle Lady Spikers defeated the FEU Lady Tamaraws in straight sets, 25-20, 25-17, 25-22, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday, February 21 for a 2-0 start in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament.
La Salle blanks FEU for 2nd straight win
Reigning MVP Angel Canino led La Salle with 13 points including the clincher in the third set, where FEU made it a nip-and-tuck battle down the stretch.
Lyka De Leon took care of the floor defense with 16 excellent digs and 12 receptions as Julia Coronel dished out 13 excellent sets.
Gerzel Petallo punched in seven points, 10 receptions, and eight digs to pace the Lady Tamaraws, who dropped to a 1-1 record.
