Charles Payne: The 'have-nots' are in a tough pickle
All right, folks, you know, before I hand it over to Liz, I want to talk about the pursuit of happiness. Because every time I see an article or a survey about the pursuit of happiness, it’s a negative article, right? In fact, here’s a headline from last summer that says the pursuit actually leads to misery. Then there was last February, Another article noted that career success does not equal happiness, which is intriguing because this morning I was reading where people who switched jobs in the last year are far less satisfied than those who actually did not change their job. I mentioned Gallup earlier in the show where Gallup poll shows not having enough money now for retirement is right now our greatest financial worry. Now part of that is sort of this fading dream of owning a home. That New York Fed survey we’ve referenced many times in this show shows that renters now believe their ability to buy a home is dropped to an all time low. Now this goes back to 2015. So listen, there are things though that can be done to turn all of this stuff around. You can fight back. You got to make sacrifices. You can make your life better. Even when the odds are stacked against your seem to be stacked against you, I’ll be honest, they are stacked against you right now. The fact of the matter is the circumstances we’re in with these ultra high rates with the unlimited government spending means that the have nots really are in a tough pickle. And to ask people who are in a tough pickle to sacrifice may sound unfair or unreasonable. But for me it is really the only way you can survive this if you want to enhance your life. It’s a tough period of time, but you know what tough times make tough people.
