Popular RPG Gets 70% Discount as It’s About to Leave Xbox Game Pass
- Soul Hackers 2 is leaving Xbox Game Pass today, February 29.
- The Standard and Digital Premium Editions of the game are available at 70% off until the end of the day, bringing them to their lowest-ever Xbox Store prices of $17.99 and $26.99, respectively.
Today is the last day to play Soul Hackers 2 via Xbox Game Pass. The popular Atlus RPG has also been treated to a hefty 70% discount to commemorate its departure from the service, with that limited-time offer even extending to those without an Xbox Game Pass membership.
Microsoft’s subscription service has historically expanded on a consistent basis, with new arrivals most often being no more than a week apart. Its outgoings are even more formulaic, as the platform’s catalog usually only shrinks on a biweekly basis, i.e., in the middle and at the end of any given month. The last wave of outgoings happened on February 15, when Xbox Game Pass lost Galactic Civilizations 3 and Opus: Echo of Starsong.

Soul Hackers 2 Hits Lowest-Ever Price Ahead of Xbox Game Pass Departure
Two weeks later, Soul Hackers 2’s time on Xbox Game Pass is almost up. Originally released in August 2022, Atlus’s RPG made its way to Microsoft’s subscription library six months later. Its stint as part of the XGP catalog will end up being a year long, which is fairly typical for Sega-published titles that end up on the service. Another platform convention is to hold sales for outgoing Xbox Game Pass titles. This tradition has now continued quite generously, as Soul Hackers 2 is currently available at 70% off on the Microsoft Store, bringing it to its lowest-ever price of $17.99.

- Soul Hackers 2 (Cloud, Console, PC)
The hefty discount also extends to the Digital Premium Edition of the game, which is now available at $26.99, offering $63 in savings. This version of the RPG shouldn’t be confused with its Deluxe Edition, which has less content and isn’t on sale right now. The 70% discount on Soul Hackers 2 is live until 9pm ET on February 29. The Xbox PC app currently suggests that the game itself will leave the subscription service at midnight, but that’s likely only an estimate. Based on past trends, Xbox Game Pass titles can be removed at any time on their planned date of departure.

The platform’s next wave of outgoings may be announced early next month, i.e., by week’s end. Those departures are likely to be removed from the service on March 15 or 16. Soul Hackers 2 itself isn’t the first Atlus title to leave the platform in recent weeks, as Xbox Game Pass has also lost Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden back in January.
Microsoft’s subscribers who haven’t yet started the soon-to-be-departing RPG have no hopes of completing it before the end of its Xbox Game Pass stint; Soul Hackers 2 takes roughly 50 hours to beat, but a completionist approach seeking to unlock all of its achievements and content can take upwards of 80 hours.
