Hamas negotiators arrive in Cairo for peace talks

Passengers have shared the moment when two Qantas planes suffered a minor collision at Perth Airport last night.

Flight 939 from Canberra landed and was approaching its gate at low speed when it clipped the wing of a stationary plane about 9pm.

Passengers were preparing to disembark the plane from Brisbane when they felt a shake and were asked to return to their seats.

Two Qantas planes were involved in a collision at Perth Airport.

“We were all standing, waiting for our turn to get off the plane and we just felt a big bump and a rock,” passenger Katie told 9News.

“It was kind of like somebody giving you a shove.”

“When I turned to my right and looked out the window, you could see that they were just crossing over enough to make contact,” another passenger, Siobhan, said.

The pilot made an announcement to the plane, telling cabin crew and passengers that the flight might have “accidentally mistaken the line”.

“Everything is safe at the moment outside, its just a wing strike, there’s no fluid leaks or anything like that,” the pilot was heard saying.

Qantas said the captain told passengers to continue to disembark after the situation was assessed.

Perth Airport and Qantas confirmed no passengers or crew were injured.

Both planes have been grounded as engineers inspect the aircrafts and Qantas investigates.

“These events are very rare. It was a very minor collision resulting in minor damage,” a Qantas pilot said.
