Case against Mayawati’s nephew after he compares BJP government to ‘Taliban’
A case was registered on Sunday against Bahujan Samajwadi Party chief Mayawati’s nephew Akash Anand and four others for allegedly using objectionable language during a poll rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur earlier in the day.
The case has been registered against BSP National Coordinator Akash Anand, party candidate Mahendra Yadav, Shyam Awasthi, Akshay Kalra and Vikas Rajvanshi under Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 171c, 153b, 188, 502(2) and Section 125 of the RP Act. Â
As per the FIR, Akash Anand called the BJP a ‘party of thieves’, and claimed that while the BSP ran on the party workers’ money, the saffron party took Rs 16,000 crore (through electoral bonds) from the rich.
