La requête introduite par la commune d’Auderghem auprès du tribunal de première instance de Bruxelles dans le but de suspendre provisoirement les travaux au niveau du carrefour Léonard a été jugée « irrecevable », a indiqué vendredi le cabinet de la ministre flamande de la Mobilité, Lydia Peeters (Open VLD).

Mi-avril, Auderghem avait intenté une action en justice contre la Région flamande pour imposer une pause dans les travaux. L’objectif : mettre en place une concertation entre la Région et les communes concernées par les embarras de circulation causés par le chantier.

Cette requête a toutefois été jugée « irrecevable » par le tribunal de première instance, a informé le cabinet Mme Peeters. « Le tunnel Léonard est en très mauvais état. Il est donc impératif que les travaux de rénovation ne tolèrent aucun retard, sachant qu’il aurait été nécessaire de fermer temporairement le tunnel à la circulation pour des raisons de sécurité », a-t-il expliqué.

La ministre Peeters suppose que « les efforts récemment déployés par l’agence flamande des routes et de la circulation (AWV) ont permis de susciter davantage de compréhension quant à la nécessité du chantier ».

De son côté, la commune d’Auderghem ne semble pas encore avoir été officiellement informée de la décision. « Nous attendons de pouvoir lire le jugement, mais s’il est avéré, nous regrettons que le juge n’ait pas entendu nos arguments », a déclaré l’échevin de la Mobilité, Matthieu Pillois.

De nombreux riverains continuent d’être « impactés par ce chantier mal géré depuis plusieurs mois par l’autorité flamande », selon l’échevin. « Grâce à l’action de la commune, une concertation – même imparfaite – a toutefois été mise en place depuis mi-avril ».

«Ã‚ Si la sécurité est tellement en jeu qu’il est impossible de suspendre les travaux pour quelques jours, alors il faut tout faire pour les accélérer, notamment en étendant les horaires de chantier le week-end », a conclu l’échevin.
