From Travis Scott’s hard seltzer to Post Malone’s rosé to Snoop Dogg’s gin (and wine!), rappers adding alcoholic beverages to their portfolio has become as common as featuring on a pop song to reach more listeners. So not that Cardi B — who has already partnered with massive companies like Pepsi and Reebok — needs another side hustle, but alcohol seems like a sensible market. (Her name is a spin on Bacardi, after all.) And recently, the rapper announced a new boozy venture: vodka-infused whipped cream.
Beyond being billed as “luxurious AF,” Whipshots — as the brand is called — is described as a non-dairy product, allowing it to sit on bar shelves without additional refrigeration. Forbes reports that these whipped creams contain 10-percent vodka and will arrive in December in three different flavors: caramel, vanilla, and chocolate.
“There is a tremendous amount of intellectual property built into the formulation and manufacturing of Whipshots,” Ross Sklar, founder of Starco Brands which created the product, was quoted as saying. “We are the only business in the US with a license to manufacture aerosols in a distillery.”
For hard-partying college students, the notion of boozy whipped cream in an aerosol can may conjure up visions of spraying the stuff right in your mouth, but Sklar said he believes the new product can be sophisticated and versatile, used in upmarket cocktails or as an addition to desserts. “We see a very wide range of consumers for Whipshots,” he continued. “Everyone from youngsters in the bars to mom’s book club — and to diners in restaurants adding a shot to their key lime pie.”
As for Cardi B, she called the partnership an “incredible opportunity.” “Whipshots matches my style — over the top, sexy, unique,” she stated. “Together we’re completely innovating whipped cream and giving it an extra pop. Whipshots is Cardi in a can.”Internet Explorer Channel Network
