NDO – A sea route connecting Ca Mau Province with Kien Giang Province’s Nam Du Archipelago and Phu Quoc Island will be launched on July 7.
The Phu Quoc Express Joint Stock Company’s high-speed boats will ply the route - the first of its kind in Ca Mau.
Once in operation, the new sea route is expected to attract more tourist to the southernmost province of Ca Mau while contributing to fostering tourism and socio-economic growth in Kien Giang Province.
After a field trip on June 29 to the inland wharf in Song Doc Town, Tran Van Thoi District, which was recently built on the southern bank of Doc River to facilitate the operation of the sea route, Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Tien Hai said that all preparations for the launch of the route has been completed.
Chairman Hai has requested the Phu Quoc Express Joint Stock Company to complete all necessary documents and ensure safety conditions for operation of the route.
He directed the provincial Transport Department to coordinate with functional agencies to keep a close watch on the project’s progress and provide prompt support for the tour’s operator.
The local Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism was asked to inspect accommodations and food service providers in Song Doc Town in order to ensure that they are fully equipped to welcome passengers.
Local authorities must pay greater attention to upgrading roads, keeping the environment clean, and ensuring social order to facilitate tourism development.
