Busy with Saints Shoppers, but measures observed

According to Intertoys CEO Eddy Assies, sales in the toy stores are going well. “People still come to buy gifts at the last minute or pick up items that have been ordered online.” According to him, the corona measures are being observed well.

Many Intertoys stores are still open on Sundays, but according to Assies, the focus is mainly on Saturdays. Pokémon and Lego toys, hobby products and board games are particularly popular, according to the CEO.

Medium pressure

Business is also going well at electronics chain MediaMarkt, a spokeswoman said. She says it is “average busy” in the branches. The company had already extended opening hours by opening earlier in order to spread out crowds for safety for customers and staff. At MediaMarkt, the corona measures are also well observed by customers. “Everything is going well,” she says.

A spokeswoman for Hema indicates that it is “pleasantly busy in the shopping street, but not too busy.” “Everything is run smoothly,” she says.

nice day

Retailers’ association INretail speaks of a “smooth course” in the shopping street in the run-up to package evening and states that shopkeepers maintain the corona measures well and that visitors adhere to them. “It also helps that it doesn’t rain. People make a nice day out of it,” said a spokesperson.

INretail had already sent out a call to stores to spread promotions around the holidays as much as possible over several days. In addition, consumers have been repeatedly advised to shop especially at quiet times.
