Torrential rain in east Africa has caused a dam to burst in Kenya – killing at least 45 people.

The intense downpour has also seen thousands displaced in Tanzania and Burundi.
The weather event also sent flash floods crashing into nearby villages.
Kenya Red Cross says at least 109 people have been rescued and rushed to hospitals.
Authorities have confirmed at least 45 people have died with 17 of them children.
