Burger King is celebrating the end of 2023 with some delicious deals.

This weekend, customers can score free burgers and sandwiches before ringing in the new year. On Friday, Dec. 29, the burger chain is handing out free original chicken sandwiches with a $1 purchase.

But the deals don’t stop there! On Saturday, Dec. 30, fans can get a free bacon cheeseburger when they spend $1.

Burger King has been offering free food every Friday this month. Other days of the week had patterns of discounts, like every Wednesday had $3 Whoppers, every Sunday (including N.Y.E.) has a $0 delivery fee with a $5 purchase and more. Reward members can access the daily deals through the Burger King app.

Burger King welcomed back some returning menu items this month, including cheesy tots. The cheese-filled tater tots last appeared on BK menus in 2021. They are now available nationwide in 4 or 8-piece versions after a successful test run in select markets.

Also back on the menu are the BK melts, a specialty burger sandwich on rounded bread (rather than a hamburger bun). There are three types of melts available for fans: the classic melt, bacon melt and the new shroom n’ swiss melt.

The classic has two flame-grilled Whopper Jr. patties, melted American cheese, caramelized onions and stacker sauce and the bacon melt is the same but with bacon, too. The new BK melt in the lineup is the shroom n’ swiss melt with two flame-grilled Whopper Jr. patties, Swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms and stacker sauce.

BK isn’t alone in giving out freebies this weekend. McDonald’s fans who are opted into its rewards program can grab free French fries this Friday. All they have to do is visit the chain’s app to redeem the offer and make a $1 purchase.
