Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley.

With his team already eliminated from the playoffs, Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley wouldn’t be playing any meaningful games in the near future.

Now it looks like the 35-year-old will have his 2024-25 season delayed a bit as well.

With under three minutes remaining in Milwaukee’s season-ending Game 6 loss against the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the playoffs and the contest all but decided, Beverley was at the end of the Bucks’ bench. When the game ball went out of bounds, he chucked it toward a group of fans behind Milwaukee’s bench, hitting a woman in the face.

A different fan collected the loose ball, traded words with Beverley and tossed it back to the veteran, who whipped it back at the second fan before being surrounded by teammates.

Beverley’s rough night didn’t end there.

While answering postgame questions in a circle of reporters, he turned to ESPN producer Malinda Adams and asked her if she subscribed to his podcast. Adams said she didn’t, and he immediately told her she couldn’t interview him.

When she remained part of the media scrum, Beverley pushed her microphone away and said, “Get that mic out of my face, please.” Then he added, “Would you move that mic, please, or just get out (of) the circle, please for me, please, ma’am, if you’re not subscribing to my pod? I appreciate it. Thank you.”

The next day, Adams wrote on social media that both the Bucks and Beverley apologized to her regarding the locker room incident.

The Chicago native has long been one of the NBA’s biggest villains, but usually a player that teammates can count on for pesky defense and all-out effort. Beverley made three All-Defensive teams and won the NBA Hustle Award for the 2016-17 season.

After numerous other incidents in recent years, his latest has cost him his most significant suspension to date.

While discussing his expected punishment recently, Beverley said if he ever saw the fan he threw the ball at, he would apologize.

The Arkansas product was previously issued a one-game suspension in July 2021 for pushing point guard Chris Paul during Game 6 of that year’s Western Conference Finals. Beverley was then docked three games in November 2022 after pushing Deandre Ayton during an on-court scuffle.

With his two separate incidents coming on one night recently (where a fan could’ve been injured), he’s lucky that he was only suspended for four games.
