Ohio Valley soaked by severe storms

Nearly a month after a deadly EF 3 tornado ripped through Lakeview, Ohio, families in the Buckeye State were warned once again to prepare for more severe weather. I think it hits everybody hard. I mean, it’s, you know, severe weather can really damage somebody, their personal property, their home lives, their family members, Sandy Mackey with Ohio’s Emergency Management Agency, says. Everyone needs to have a severe weather plan, especially people traveling or staying in campers or mobile homes. Be weather aware, you know. Pay attention to changing weather conditions and prepare accordingly. You may need to act quickly. You may need to find an alternate route due to flooding. You may need to seek shelter at a moment’s notice. Severe storms rocked West Virginia Thursday afternoon. A rotating supercell brought gusty winds and hail to Powell. Some drivers tried to take cover under a bridge. Others hydroplaned out of control. Downpours led to flooding, blocking highway lanes in Charleston for the evening commute. We’re approaching the peak of spring severe weather season, so it’s a good idea to take pictures of your car, especially the roof of your vehicle.
