Britischer Youtube-Star berichtet von aussergewöhnlichem Berner Schützenverein

Tom Scott berichtet auf seinem Youtube-Channel über einen Schweizer Schützenverein.

Und zwar über die Schützengesellschaft Erlenbach-Wimmis.

Das besondere an dessen Anlage: Man schiesst über eine Hauptstrasse.

«Ich denke, das hier ist die bestmögliche Demonstration, um zu zeigen, was für eine Einstellung die Schweiz zu Schusswaffen und Schusswaffen-Sicherheit hat», sagt Scott zu Beginn seines Beitrags.

«Man schiesst hier, die Zielscheiben sind dort drüben, und dazwischen ist eine Hauptstrasse. Und es ist sicher.»

Geschossen wird in der Brünnlisau nur im Liegen, so ist es rein geometrisch gar nicht möglich, Autos zu treffen, die auf der Strasse unterwegs sind.

Eine Mauer aus armiertem Beton begrenzt den Schusswinkel, damit keine Unfälle passieren.

In der Brünnlisau wird seit 1998 geschossen.

Wie Vereinspräsident Edwin Karlen, der im Video den Zuschauerinnen und Zuschauern den Schiess-Sport in der Schweiz erklärt, sagt, habe es in diesen über 20 Jahren keine Zwischenfälle gegeben.

Das Video, das am Montagnachmittag auf Youtube hochgeladen wurde, hat knapp 24 Stunden später bereits rund 1,5 Millionen Views.

Bei der Schützengesellschaft ist man glücklich: «Mit dem Video sind wir sehr zufrieden», sagt Sekretär Stefan Stucki auf Anfrage von 20 Minuten.

«Es ist spannend unsere geliebte Schiessanlage einmal aus der Luft zu sehen und aus Positionen welche nicht alltäglich sind», so Stucki.

Tom Scott war beeindruckt davon, dass man in der Schiessanlage Brünnlisau über eine vielbefahrene Strasse schiesst. Der Verein freut sich über die vielen positiven Kommentare.

«Hey, das ist eine 10!», ruft Tom Scott und lacht. Der bekannte britische Youtuber mit über 4,5 Millionen Abonnenten liegt in der Schiessanlage Brünnlisau im Berner Oberland auf dem Boden und versucht sich im 300-Meter-Stand. Am Ende seiner Schiessversuche hat er 56 von 100 Punkten – gar nicht schlecht fürs erste Mal.

Wenn es etwas gibt, dass vor allem die englischsprachige Welt an der Schweiz fasziniert, dann ist es der Umgang mit Waffen. Scott stattete deshalb einem Schützenverein einen Besuch ab – der Schützengesellschaft Erlenbach-Wimmis im Berner Oberland. Das besondere an dessen Anlage: Man schiesst über eine Hauptstrasse.

«Ich denke, das hier ist die bestmögliche Demonstration, um zu zeigen, was für eine Einstellung die Schweiz zu Schusswaffen und Schusswaffen-Sicherheit hat», sagt Scott zu Beginn seines Beitrags. «Man schiesst hier, die Zielscheiben sind dort drüben, und dazwischen ist eine Hauptstrasse. «Was, wenn jemand aufsteht?»

Den Hauptgrund dafür hat Scott schnell ausgemacht: Eine Mauer aus armiertem Beton, die den Schusswinkel begrenzt. Geschossen wird in der Brünnlisau nämlich nur im Liegen, so ist es rein geometrisch gar nicht möglich, Autos zu treffen, die auf der Strasse unterwegs sind. Als weitere Gründe führt er an, dass Gewehrbesitzerinnen und -besitzer in der Schweiz meist im Militär waren und darum «gründliches Training» mit Schusswaffen hatten. Ausserdem dürfen die Gewehre nur im Liegen geladen sein.

«Die berechtigte Frage lautet natürlich: Was, wenn jemand einfach aufsteht?», sagt Scott. «Es ist unwahrscheinlich, dass das passiert.» Und weiter: «Wenn jemand mit einer Waffe Schaden anrichten will, ist das nicht der Weg, wie er oder sie das tun würde. Mitglied in einem Schützenverein werden, die nötige Bewilligung erhalten und das dann einfach hinwerfen um einmal ein Auto attackieren zu können.»

Schützenverein ist zufrieden

Rückmeldungen aus dem Bekanntenkreis habe es noch eher wenige gegeben, da das Video noch nicht lange online sei. «Ich freue mich aber wie viel Positives im Kommentarbereich auf Youtube gepostet wird», sagt Stucki.

Und wie gut war Tom Scott bei seinen ersten Schussversuchen wirklich? «In der Tat war er auf Anhieb so gut», sagt Stucki. «Er hatte zuvor mit unserem Vereinspräsidenten nur etwa zehn Minuten Trockenübungen gemacht.»
