Brit Awards nominations 2022: Full list of Brits nominees and what time to watch the ceremony on TV tonight

Music fans are in for a night of big name performances, as the Brits are back.

It is always a spectacle showcasing the best in British music. Last year some acts had to be recorded and shown on screen, due to Covid restrictions.

But how will 2022’s play out? Here’s everything you need to know.

When are the Brits awards? 

They will take place on Tuesday 8 February at the O2 arena in London and will be hosted by comedian Mo Gilligan.

Clara Amfo and Maya Jama are set to present The Brit Awards Red Carpet which will be broadcast on ITV2 from 7pm-8pm.

Who are the nominees?

Adele, Ed Sheeran, Dave and Little Simz are the most nominated stars for this year’s Brit Awards. They received four nominations, and all are up for album of the year and the artist of the year categories. Sam Fender will also be competing against them in both categories.

Who will be performing?

Last year the Brits were one of the Government’s pilot events, and they had to hold a mixture of live acts and recorded performances, with the likes of Coldplay, The Weeknd and Elton John appearing on screen.

This year, however, they are back and are making up for it with a bumper line-up, including all five of the Artist of the year nominees.

Acts include Ed Sheeran, Sam Fender, Dave, Holly Humberstone, and Little Simz, Anne-Marie and KSI are to perform together, along with Digital Farm Animals.

Writing on social media, Adele, who recently had to cancel her Las Vegas residency, said: “Hiya, so I’m really happy to say that I am performing at the Brits next week!!”

Liam Gallagher is bringing some old school guitar-led rock n roll with his new track “Everything’s Electric”.

Sadly Doja Cat has been scrapped after members of her team tested positive for Covid, but it’s still going to be a big night.

What else can we expect? 

The revamp of this year’s Brits includes four new genre awards which are voted for by the public:

• Alternative/Rock Act
• Hip-Hop/Grime/Rap Act
• Dance Act
• Pop/R’n’B Act

Male and Female solo categories have been dropped and replaced by new awards for Artist of the Year and International Artist of the Year.

How can I watch it? 

It will be broadcast on Tuesday 8 February from 8pm on ITV and ITV Hub.

There will also be a live stream on the official Brits channel.
