BREAKING: Elias Pettersson Becomes First Canucks Player Ever Nominated For The Lady Bing Trophy
Vancouver Canucks center Elias Pettersson has been nominated for the 2024 Lady Bing Trophy.
Pettersson was assessed just six penalties for 12 minutes this season. It is the sixth time in his career that he’s finished the season with less than 20 total penalty minutes. He is the first player in Canucks history to be nominated for this award.
Part of the Lady Bing Trophy is having a high standard of play and discipline. Pettersson had 89 points (34 goals, 55 assists) and was tied for fourth in the NHL with ten game-winning goals.
Toronto Maple Leafs superstar Auston Matthews and Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Jacob Slavin are the other nominees for this season’s award. Matthews has been nominated for the Lady Bing twice in his career but has yet to win the award.
Pettersson and the Canucks finished off the Nashville Predators in six games to move onto the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and face the Edmonton Oilers.
