BREAKING: Canucks Call Up AHL All-Star MVP Arshdeep Bains; Send Down Jett Woo
The Vancouver Canucks have recalled Arshdeep Bains from Abbotsford and sent down Jett Woo.
Bains leads the Abbotsford Canucks in scoring with 39 points (9 goals, 30 assists). He recently won MVP of the AHL All-Star Game.
With Dakota Joshua out week-to-week with an injury, Bains will likely stay with the NHL club for an extended look. The Canucks host the Winnipeg Jets before embarking on a three-game road trip.
“We’ll probably grab somebody. Maybe a Bains or something. I’d like to see him up,” head coach Rick Tocchet told the media today after practice.
Bains has yet to make his NHL debut and could do so as early as Saturday.
Woo got his first NHL call-up but did not appear in any games. The team likely didn’t want him watching too many games from the press box and will get him back into game action down in the AHL.
