Tom Parker broke down during an incredibly emotional interview on Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer.
The brave and inspirational 32-year-old, who was diagnosed with a severe brain tumour, last year opened up on the heartbreaking moment doctors delivered his life-changing diagnosis.
The Wanted singer recalled being away on holiday with his beloved wife Kelsey, when he first started to feel unwell.
Tom recalled being ‘snappy’ with his wife – something which was completely out of character for him – before he ended up having a seizure in front of her.
He was then rushed to hospital, where after a number of tests, doctors confirmed he was living with a brain tumour.
Tom broke down in tears as he told Stand Up To Cancer viewers about his fear of dying.
“It was an emotive moment to say the least,” the brave star told host Davina McCall.
“I was on my own in hospital because of Covid restrictions. So, there was literally nobody else there with me – I was alone.
“The doctors whipped around the curtain around my bed and told me I have a brain tumour, and I was like ‘No, you’ve got it wrong. It must be a mistake. I’m only 32,”.
“I really thought they had made a mistake,” Tom added.
The incredibly brave singer went on to detail his emotional downward spiral following his diagnosis.
Tom admitted that ‘cancer consumed’ him during the first few months of his illness.
The Glad You Came singer found it hard to get out of bed and was constantly left fearing for his life – wondering would his beloved wife Kelsey be left alone as a single mum.
Sharing his devastation, Tom admitted that he was consumed with thoughts about his own death.
Thankfully, Tom’s children helped him see the light.
The singer found hope again and realised that he ‘had a life to live’ – removed from his cancer.
Following Tom’s emotional and inspiring admission, Stand Up To Cancer fans flocked to Twitter to praise the brave star.
“Tom Parker is an actual saint,” gushed one fan.
“Bawling my eyes out. Tom Parker is an incredible human being. So, so, so, brave,” another shared.
“Omg. Tom is amazing. I don’t think I could be so positive if I was in his position,” someone else tweeted.
Meanwhile, another user gushed: “Devastated watching SUTC. Tom Parker is an inspiration.”
