Staff from the Main Street filling station store in Oola, Co. Limerick, were pictured after it was announced that their village store sold the winning €1 million ticket in the 9th March Lotto Plus 1 draw
The National Lottery is calling on all players in one county to check their tickets as one lucky punter who purchased theirs has yet to claim their €1million prize.
Players in Co Limerick are on high alert after the state’s lottery agency put out a call to the mysterious person who scooped the winning prize to come forward.
The winning €6 Quick Pick ticket was bought on Saturday, 9 March in the village of Oola on the N24, close to the border with Tipperary.
Ticket holders have 90 days from the draw date to claim their prizes, meaning the person has until close of business on Friday, 7 June 2024 to claim their winnings.
Spokesperson for the National Lottery, Fran Whearty, has appealed to Lotto players either from the Treaty County or who passed through to check their tickets from last month to see if they might have won.
“The winner could live close by, or they could have been passing through on their travels. Although it is not unusual that a winner has not yet come forward after 30 days, we are urging all of our players to think back to that Saturday and get searching for those old Lotto tickets as soon as possible.
“Back in March, we regretfully identified the winning store as the Nearby store which is also located on the Main Street in Oola, just a few metres away from the filling station store which was previously known as O’Donovan’s Londis.”
He continued: “We are encouraging all of our Lotto players who may have been in the area and popped into the filling station store on the Main Street, to carefully check their tickets. A player purchased a €6 Quick Pick ticket at that store on the day of the draw, which is now worth €1 million after they scooped the top prize in the Lotto Plus 1 draw that night. The ticket could be sitting in the glove compartment of someone’s car or at the end of a handbag.”
The winner is advised to sign the back of their ticket and keep it safe. They should contact the National Lottery’s prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email [email protected] and arrangements will be made for the winner to visit Lotto HQ to collect their prize.
