Signs of spring in Western Canada. Warmth is spreading in, but the wildfires have ignited. Let’s first talk about the warmth story through the afternoon on Wednesday. Getting up to 20° in Saskatoon. That puts you 6° above seasonal. Let’s turn the page to Thursday. And Winnipeg, 22° for forecast high, almost 10° above where we usually are for this time of year. But also this wildfire season has started in the West. And there’s an evacuation order for Cold Lake First Nations. That’s just in Alberta, so of a cold Lake in particular. And we’ve got two out of control fires for the province of Alberta. For BC, we’re sitting at one out of control, 109 under control. The forecast for wind looks like this through Western Canada. It is breezy through Wednesday afternoon, Thursday, particularly through southern Manitoba. And of course, winds aren’t great. If we have any fires ongoing or any that gets started, winds can certainly fan the flames. How about the rainfall? Well, we do have rain moving through this week in the West, It’s just not very much.
