KOTA KINABALU: The Lahad Datu OCPD’s 14-year-old daughter who died of a gunshot wound has been laid to rest.
Her remains were buried at the Muslim cemetery in Kampung Khamis, Lahad Datu at 5.40pm, Wednesday (April 17).
Prior to that, her body was sent to Masjid At Taqwa at the Lahad Datu police headquarters after her post-mortem was completed at 3.16pm.
Sabah Deputy Police Commissioner Datuk Shahurinain Jais said that the cause of death was a gunshot which went through her right chest, hit her lungs and then came out of her back.
He said only one shot was fired.
On Tuesday (April 16), the Form Two student of SMK St Dominic Lahad Datu, was found lying in a pool of blood with a gun still in her hand in a room at their home in Taman Tabanak, on Tuesday (April 16).
Her elder sister was the first to make the gruesome discovery after she returned home from school at about 12.40pm.
