Bizarre scenes in Clonmel as Willie Mullins’ Cash Back wins by over 100 lengths in brutal conditions

There were bizarre scenes in Clonmel today as Willie Mullins’ Cash Back won by over 100 lengths in brutal conditions that saw the three contesting horses stutter across the line.

In the three-horse, three-mile Jim Strang & Sons Kilsheelan Hurdle, Desert Heather struggled to cross the line at walking pace in second position while Monishter Are Mwee finally completed the course a full 56 lengths further back.

After jumping the second last with little to separate them, Paul Townend guided Cash back ahead as Desert Heather ground to a walking pace.
