How Much Tiger Woods Would Have Earned In 2024 Golf Winnings

Golf winnings have increased by leaps and bounds since Tiger Woods was at his most dominant form back in the late-90s and early-2000s. One analyst did the math to figure out just how much money Tiger stood to earn in his prime.

Taking to X on Wednesday, Golf Digest’s Jamie Kennedy crunched the numbers and calculated just how much money Tiger stood to win if his 2000 season used 2024 payout numbers.

Between his 11 wins (which included several majors and two top five finishes), another eight top five finishes and several more top 25 finishes, Tiger earned $10,703,749 in 2000. But with their 2024 equivalent numbers, those same accomplishments would earn Tiger a whopping $92,333,970.

To put that number into perspective, Tiger’s career earnings – the most in PGA Tour history – come out to just under $121 million. So if he had replicated his legendary 2000 PGA Tour season in 2024, those numbers would rise well above $200 million for his career.

Of course, we could probably prorate the careers of legends like Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player in the same way and find that those golf titans would have earned similar numbers today.

Wood won 82 PGA Tour events between 1996 and 2019, including 15 majors. If all of those events were competed using today’s money, he might have won upwards of $1 billion just in golf winnings.

But Tiger won’t be shedding any tears over missed opportunities. Given that his estimated net worth is believed to be around $1 billion or more right now, he’s fine.
