Big Mac Nachos Are Love At First Bite

© Brandon Bales Big Mac Nachos from Delish.com are addictively good.

We put American cheese on nachos and have zero regrets. With the special sauce, they taste just like a Big Mac.

Yields: 6 servings

Prep Time: 10 mins

Total Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • 450 g

    beef mince

  • 1 tsp.

    garlic powder

  • Salt

  • Freshly ground black pepper

  • 1

    bag tortilla chips

  • 1

    white onion, chopped

  • 35 g

    pickles

  • 70 g

    shredded lettuce

  • 10

    slices American cheese, quartered

  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

For special sauce

  • 180 g

    mayonnaise

  • 3 tbsp.

    yellow mustard

  • 1 tbsp.

    ketchup

  • 1 tbsp.

    pickle relish

  • 2 tsp.

apple cider vinegar (or white vinegar)

  • 1/2 tsp.

    garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp.

    onion powder

  • 1/4 tsp.

    paprika

  • 1/4 tsp.

    salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (200ºC fan) and line a large rimmed baking tray with foil. (It’ll make cleaning much easier!) Heat a large pan over medium-high heat. Add beef and garlic powder, and cook, stirring often, until beef is no longer pink, about 6 minutes. If there’s a bunch of excess fat, drain it. Otherwise, season to taste with salt and pepper and remove from heat.
  2. Make special sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together all ingredients until smooth.
  3. Spread a layer of chips onto baking tray then top with about half the beef. Drizzle with some special sauce, then top with half each of onion, pickles, and American cheese. Add another layer of chips, then top with remaining beef, onion, pickles, and American cheese.
  4. Bake until cheese is melted, about 10 minutes. Scatter shredded lettuce over nachos, then drizzle remaining special sauce on top. Garnish with sesame seeds.
