Der Erfolg der Berner Familien-Combo Oesch’s die Dritten in der Romandie kommt überraschend, lässt sich aber erklären. Sängerin Melanie Oesch spricht über die Gründe dieses Phänomens.

Bis Mitte November ist die Volksmusik-Formation Oesch’s die Dritten aus Oberlangenegg BE auf Schweizer Tournee. Auffallend sind die vielen Auftritte in der Romandie, so heute im jurassischen Courtételle und morgen in Genf. Damit verblüffen sie auch Experten, die den Erfolg von Deutschschweizer Mundart-Acts jenseits der Sprachgrenze nicht für möglich hielten.

Ein wichtiger Grund ist die direkte Art der Familien-Combo, begonnen bei Sängerin Melanie Oesch (33). «Als Band registrieren wir keine Sprachkluft. Den Röstigraben in den Köpfen spüre ich eher in meinem Umfeld oder unter Künstlerkollegen, die sagen: ‹Wenn die Romands etwas von uns wollen, sollen sie deutsch sprechen.› Wir könnten uns aber auch anpassen, schliesslich ist Französisch unsere zweite Landessprache», so Oesch gegenüber Blick.

«Wir werden am Unterhaltungswert gemessen»

Französisch sei zudem eine dankbare Sprache zum Singen. «Und es ist natürlich so, dass sich das Publikum manchmal auch amüsiert, wenn wir ein Wort nicht ganz richtig aussprechen. Wir werden also nicht an der Korrektheit des Französischen gemessen, sondern wie bei der Musik am Unterhaltungswert.»

Diese Beliebtheit bestätigt Caroline Piccinin (43), Journalistin bei Blick Romandie: «Auch wenn die Tradition der Volksmusik in der Westschweiz weniger stark ausgeprägt ist als in der Deutschschweiz, ist die Familie Oesch ein Star und die meisten ihrer Konzerte sind bereits bei der Ankündigung ausverkauft. Warum ist das so? Ich denke, weil sie ein familiäres und volksnahes Gebilde darstellen, aber auch, weil die Romandie nicht an den grossen Städten wie Lausanne oder Genf Halt macht. Auf dem Land, in der Jugend und in manchen Dörfern sind die Traditionen viel tiefer verwurzelt, und die Musik von Oesch’s die Dritten erfüllt die kulturellen und festlichen Erwartungen dieser Menschen.»

«Den familiären Zusammenhalt finde ich schön»

Melanie Oesch hat ähnliche Beobachtungen gemacht: «Grundsätzlich stelle ich fest, dass das Publikum in der Romandie jünger ist. Die Leute dort haben weniger Vorurteile, denke ich. In der Deutschschweiz hat man oft das Gefühl, Volksmusik mit Jodel-Elementen spreche eher ältere und konservative Schichten an. Die Romands haben weniger Berührungsängste und wollen sich lieber persönlich ein Bild von uns machen, als in Schubladen zu denken.»

Was ihr ebenso aufgefallen ist: «Es kommen viel mehr ganze Familien, Kinder, Eltern und Grosseltern. In der Deutschschweiz fehlt oft die mittlere Generation. Diesen Zusammenhalt finde ich schön.»

Die Beziehung von Oesch’s zur Romandie intensiviert sich seit 2015. Damals begannen sie, ein eigenes französisches Repertoire aufzubauen. «Wichtig war und ist auch die Zusammenarbeit mit Alessandra und Fred Vonlanthen, die für uns übersetzen und auch ganze Songs schreiben. Wir haben die beiden bei Alain Morison kennengelernt. Er war jahrelang Gastgeber der RTS-Sendung ‹Les Coups de Cœur› und lud uns mehrfach ein.»

Das war offenbar die passende erste Plattform, und die Etablierung als eigene Marke mit eigenen, auch französischen Songs gelang. «Wir merkten: Wenn man auf Leute zugeht und ihre Sprache sprechen will, wächst der gegenseitige Respekt.»
