cristiano ronaldo headlines bcci chief selector ajit agarkar’s dream 5-a-side manchester united team
Former Indian cricketer and current BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar is a big Manchester United fan. Agarkar was recently asked to pick his dream 5-a-side team and the veteran named a strong-looking side, opting to name several legends in his dream team.
In a video shared by Manchester United on Instagram, Agarkar was quizzed about his dream 5-a-side team and he opted to pick legendary goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel in goal, saying that he was one of the best in his position.
“It’s an easy one for me, he’s a legend of the club, when I started watching or following United he was the guy,” said Agarkar.
Further up the field, the ex-India batter opted to name Nemanja Vidic as the centre-back and the lone defender in his dream team.
In midfield, Agarkar named legendary Englishman Paul Scholes on one flank, along with his fellow countryman Wayne Rooney on the other wing. Rooney is the leading goal-scorer for the Red Devils till date.

“Don’t have to say anything much about Paul Scholes, he could play anywhere and do anything on a football pitch. Wayne Rooney is among probably the top three United footballers that I liked,” Ajit added.
Last but not the least, Ajit Agarkar named Cristiano Ronaldo as the striker to lead the 5-a-side dream team. Cristiano led United to the Champions League title in 2008 and won many other titles during a decorated spell at Old Trafford before leaving for Real Madrid.
The 39-year-old is still going strong at Al Nassr and has shown no signs of slowing down.
“How can you not have Cristiano Ronaldo in a 5-a-side game, he’ll probably do everything that needs to be done,” stated Agarkar, lavishing praise on the Portuguese superstar.
Manchester United are currently in sixth place in the Premier League standings, recently Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS group purchased a 25% stake in the Red Devils, hoping to turn the club’s fortunes around as they chase a first league title since Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013.
