Bayern Munich are keen on signing Barcelona's Dutch midfielder Frenkie de JongThe Bavarian giants have been in contact recently with the players agent Chelsea, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on his signature
Bayern Munich are interested in securing the services of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong having contacted the players agent, according to Marca.
De Jong, 24, joined the Catalan giants from Ajax in 2019, having signed for the club in deal worth €89million (£74.5million).
The Dutchman has failed to make the impact expected at the Nou Camp, with Bayern Munich prepared to offer him an escape route.

Barcelona midfielder is a target for Bayern Munich who are keen to lure him to Bavaria

The Netherlands international has failed to live up to expectations since his move from Ajax
While De Jong has shown signs of his undisputed quality, he has been unable to carry it over a sustained period, while his showings in the big games have also been questioned.
Chelsea, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in his signature, but Bayern are understood to be front of the queue having contacted his agent.
If the Germans fail in their pursuit of trying to sign the ex-Ajax man, then they are expected to return in the summer.
De Jong is seen as a player who would fit perfectly in Julian Nagelsmann’s midfield, and is viewed as a long-term option.
Barcelona manager Xavi remains a big fan of the Netherlands international, and he is prepared to help him get back to his best.

Barcelona boss Xavi has encouraged the 24-year-old to stamp his authority on games more

De Jong faced Bayern twice last year in the Champions League losing both matches
According to Sport, the Barca boss has asked de Jong to make a few tactical adjustments to his game.
He wants de Jong to not drop too deep and get himself on the ball more, encourage him to make more late runs into the box, while utilising his body better when dribbling.
De Jong has faith in manager Xavi, but should he fail to turn things around between now and the end of the campaign, then his future could lie in the Barca managers hands.
