Barnaby Joyce warns China is ‘breathing down our neck’
Barnaby Joyce has declared the renewable “swindle” is over as he encouraged Australians to focus on “how we make our nation as strong as possible”.
Mr Joyce’s comments come after Labor admitted the country will still require the use of gas as an energy source past 2050.
“The swindle is up, we are over it, we are going down a rational view on how we make our nation as strong as possible,” the former deputy prime minister told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
“Up above us, we have got China breathing down our neck and our biggest issue, our biggest threat is not climate change.
“Everything we do in Australia is going to have no effect … but what we are doing, very successfully, is destroying our economy, socialising private assets and driving people who are poor into poverty.”
