Atletico Madrid tonight travel to Borussia Dortmund with a 2-1 aggregate lead in the tie, with a spot in the Champions League semi-finals on the line.

Atletico started strongly in the first leg, and will be rueing their inability to convert their first-half dominance into a larger lead. A late Sebastien Haller goal gave Dortmund a lifeline with the tie heading back to Germany.

Dortmund will be looking to continue a strong Champions League run that saw them top ‘the group of death’ and defeat PSV in the round of 16.

Atletico toppled Inter Milan on penalties in the last-16 after a late equaliser from Memphis Depay.

Both teams have struggled domestically, and the Champions League is their last opportunity for silverware this season. Dortmund currently sit outside the top four, while Atletico sit in fourth, only four points above Athletic Bilbao.

Dortmund vs Atletico team news

Haller lasted only ten minutes against Borussia Mönchengladbach before reaggravating a left ankle injury, and could be out for the rest of the season.

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is doubtful after exiting Dortmund’s game against Mönchengladbach with a back problem.

Donyell Malen recovered sufficiently from his thigh issue to come off the bench against this week and should start.

Jadon Sancho missed training last week due to a bout of illness, but was able to train over the weekend and is likely to feature in some capacity. Ramy Bensebaini is still out with a knee injury.

Thomas Lemar, Vitolo and Memphis Depay have all been ruled out, while Saúl Ñíguez was substituted early against Girona, and is doubtful for the game.
