12 senators log ‘perfect attendance’ from July 2023

MANILA, Philippines — Twelve of the 24 senators of the 19th Congress registered excellent attendance since the lawmaking body’s Second Regular Session started on July 24, 2023.

Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri announced the “perfect attendance” of the 12 senators, which included him, Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda, and Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva, citing records from the Senate Secretariat.

“In my long years as a public servant, I have learned this one important thing: true leadership starts by showing up for the important work for the people. And here in the Senate, we take that to heart,” Zubiri said in a mix of Filipino and English in a statement released by his office on Tuesday.
