The Great British Bake Off 2021 viewers were left hiding behind their hands, as they struggled to watch the “tense” episode on Tuesday night.
Pastry Week descended into chaos, with a number of bakers left fearing the worst for their showstoppers.
But one baker in particular suffered a huge blunder with her pie, with it collapsing in on itself before she could present it to the judges.
Amanda could do nothing but shout out, as her ‘fancy terrine pie’ disintegrated, with half of it remaining in the baking tin as she attempted to remove it.
As another baker, Chigs, raced to help her salvage the pie, it was no good as things got super tense – and went from bad to worse.
Viewers hailed the episode the “most stressful ever” as Amanda battled to save her pie, while hosts Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas watched on in horror.
Fan favourite Giuseppe also couldn’t watch the moment, with viewers joking his facial expressions were how they were all feeling.
Amanda panicked and Chigs told her to stop moving it around, while she told him to “hurry up” but it was all no use.
Viewers tuning into the episode confessed the few minutes of mayhem were all too much, with many “not able to watch”.
Taking to Twitter, many admitted their stress levels were high as they waited to find out if the bake could be saved, and how the judges would react.
One viewer said: “What a disaster Amanda,” as another agreed: “Oh god Amanda, I can’t watch.”
A third tweeted: “This is the most stressful episode of #gbbo I’ve ever watched. Myself and @jackpowerIT have just been shouting ‘NOOOOO!’ for the past 5 minutes.”
Meanwhile, a fourth viewer commented: “The bake off drama is REAL and it’s more tense than any thriller I ever saw.”
Another viewer joked: “I need Giuseppe’s pained reaction to Amanda as a GIF tbh.”
