All sitting MPs, including Rahul, on Kerala PCC list for Lok Sabha Polls
The screening committee of the Kerala unit of the Congress on Thursday cleared the names of all 15 sitting MPs, including Rahul Gandhi and party state President K Sudhakaran, for the Lok Sabha polls.
It has been decided that Rahul Gandhi would contest from Wayanad and KPCC President K Sudhakaran from Kannur. The candidate for the Alappuzha seat will be decided later. AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal’s name is being considered for this seat.
When the Central Selection Committee takes the final decision after considering the recommendations of the High Command, there might be changes in the, now cleared, list.
The meeting was chaired by AICC representative in the screening committee Harish Chaudhary, state unit incharge Deepa Dasmunsi, Leader of the Opposition VD Satheesan and KPCC president K Sudhakaran.
According to the seat-sharing accord reached among UDF constituents, the Congress will contest 16 seats from where the party had contested in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) will contest from two seats while the Kerala Congress (J) and the RSP (B) will contest from one seat each.
