Lipomas are benign tumors of fatty tissue covered by a fibrous capsule, which can develop in any region of the body. Its causes are not precisely clarified, but it is believed that genetic inheritance plays a relevant role in its emergence. The lack of a known cause makes it difficult to implement effective prevention measures, which is why there are no specific recommendations for this.

A lipoma is a round or oval-shaped lump of tissue that grows just beneath the skin. Lipomas (and many of the conditions that cause lipomas) are inherited. Since they’re passed down through families, it isn’t possible to prevent them. You can lower your risk of developing Made lung disease (a condition that causes lipomas to grow) by limiting the amount of alcohol you drink.
