As Twitter declares BTS' Butter song of the summer in the US, the top 10 most tweeted about songs this summer

Twitter’s song of summer 2021 is officially BTS’ Butter, the American social media platform announced on September 1.

Between the end of May and the middle of August, the BTS record-making hit was the most tweeted about song in the US on Twitter.

The news arrived on BTS member Jungkook’s birthday, and just a few days after a new remix of the song arrived featuring Megan Thee Stallion.

In general, BTS has been one of the most popular entities on Twitter for several years.

Along with Butter, Wizkid’s Essence, featuring Tems and a remix from Justin Bieber, was the next most tweeted about song, followed by Lil Nas X’s Industry Baby with Jack Harlow.

BTS has discussed high hopes for the song getting a Grammy nod.

Along with being popular on Twitter, Butter is also the No. 1 song this summer on Billboard’s new Songs of the Summer chart.
