According to research by Imperial College London, the Covid-19 pandemic has claimed millions of lives and orphaned a child every 12 seconds around the world. As a result, the bedding brand Pasaya has teamed up with Mother's Spiritual Museum to present the “Art Of Love: Matarak” exhibition, which will be on view from tomorrow until Jan 9 at Iconsiam's Iconluxe Gallery.

To highlight top-notch Thai craftsmanship, the exhibition will feature a variety of textile wall murals based on paintings and photos by prominent Thai and worldwide artists. Each work has precisely caught the beauty and delicate nuances of the original masterpieces and provides the viewer with a fascinating experience. For example, Italian painter Arianna Caroli and Thai botanical artist Phansakdi Chakkapak both portray the beauty and power of flowers.

Textile wall murals are a time-honoured craft and weaving is a time-consuming procedure. Creating one-of-a-kind designs takes a high level of talent and expertise. Thanks to developments in textile manufacturing and technology, textile wall murals are now woven in a considerably shorter period of time, while keeping the beauty and delicacy of traditional crafts.

To raise funds for the youth and impoverished who have been affected by Covid-19, shoppers can check out a special edition of products created by Pasaya and the Mother’s Spiritual Museum as well as other participating brands. Proceeds will be donated to the Buddharaksa Foundation and the Sahathai Foundation.

Pasaya offers the six-piece, 650-series Matarak bedding for king size. There are 190 sets available for 19,900 baht each, with 10,000 baht to be donated for every set sold. At the same time, 19 baht will be donated to charity from the sale of each fabric mask.

Mother’s Spiritual Museum has 99 copies of the Dialogue With Mother Nature 2 photobook by artist Krongsak Chulamorkodt. Each copy sold will result in a donation of 1,500 baht.

Meanwhile, Apercu will sell 50 cushion covers with the Blooming Again print for 1,200 baht each, with 500 baht from each sale going to charity. Plantoys will donate 10% of all online sales throughout the month, while Plan for Kids will donate 200 baht from each Surprise Box sold. There are 500 sets available for 450 baht each.

Other fun activities include an AR-enhanced Interactive textile wall painting that can be viewed through Facebook and Instagram, as well as lucky drawings. In addition, a parallel exhibition will be held at the Pasaya factory in Ratchaburi. Donations to the foundations can be made directly at https://buddharaksa.or.th and https://sahathai.org.
