Arsenal's next six Premier League fixtures compared to Man City, Chelsea, Tottenham and Man Utd

Arsenal continued their fine form when they returned from the international break, registering a huge 3-1 win over North London rivals Tottenham. Goals from Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka secured them all three points as well as the bragging rights on Saturday.

It leaves the Gunners top of the Premier League, now four points clear of Spurs and one point ahead of Manchester City in second. It continues to push Mikel Arteta’s men into the title picture, though the manager was coy on the possibility of his side being within a shout.

They face a huge few weeks ahead of them though, with a busy fixture schedule awaiting them before the mid-season break for the World Cup, With that said, here’s a look at their next six fixtures compared to their Premier League rivals.

Liverpool (H) – October 9

Liverpool have made a slow start by their very recent standards, sitting ninth with just 10 points from their opening seven games. The latest of which was a 3-3 draw against Brighton, with Leandro Trossard’s hattrick denying them a victory after coming back from 2-0 down to lead the match.

Despite their struggles, there is still plenty of quality at Jurgen Klopp’s disposal, with his men able to turn up and beat anyone on their day. It will be yet another test of Arsenal’s ability to compete at the top end of the table again this season.

Leeds United (A) – October 16

Jesse Marsch’s side lost some key players in the summer and will be hoping their rebuild can keep them clear of their relegation worries from last season. They currently sit 13th, two points above the drop zone but with two games in hand left to play.

Leeds have shown they can cause problems with their pressing across the pitch and the Gunners will have to be careful when making the trip to Yorkshire – with Marsch’s team holding on for a point against Aston Villa on Sunday despite going down to 10 men.

Southampton (A) – October 23

Southampton’s form has been poor as of late, only registering one win in their last five fixtures, with the latest game being a loss to Everton. It leaves the Saints hovering dangerously above the relegation places, just one point clear of Wolves in 18th with the fifth worst defence in the league.

The Saints have proven capable of pulling off an upset though, beating Chelsea 2-1 back in August.

Nottingham Forest (H) – October 30

It’s been a tough return to the top flight for Nottingham Forest, who made a stunning 22 signings in the summer following their promotion from the Championship. They sit second from bottom, with their one and only win coming against West Ham, falling to defeat five times already this season.

The visitors will come to the Emirates with some hope of getting one up on Arsenal though, having knocked Mikel Arteta’s men out of the FA Cup last season.

Chelsea (A) – November 6

It’s yet another London Derby as Arsenal make the short trip across the capital to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in their penultimate game before the mid-season break. Things both on and off the pitch have been inconsistent for the Blues, with the new ownership opting for a change in head coach, appointing Graham Potter.

The former Brighton boss took charge of his first Premier League game for Chelsea at the weekend against Crystal Palace with former Eagles loanee Conor Gallagher netting a stoppage-time winner.

Wolves (A) – November 12

The final game before the international break comes against Wolves, who find themselves in a perilous position at this stage of the season. They currently sit third bottom, suffering a 2-0 defeat to West Ham after a torrid start to their campaign, which has seen manager Bruno Lage sacked.

The Gunners will be hoping they will be able to get a win over them to go into the World Cup in fine form.

Chelsea’s next six fixtures:

Wolves (H) – October 8
