Arsenal starlet Chido Obi-Martin has joined the Elite Project Group agency ahead of signing his first professional contract later this year.

The agency is home to a number of top players, including Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka and Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho.

Obi-Martin has now joined their ranks too after putting in some sensational performances for Arsenal’s youth teams.

The striker went viral earlier this season after scoring 10 goals during an Under-16s match against Liverpool.

Obi-Martin has since made the jump to U18 level and he is continuing to catch the eye.

Last weekend, he scored seven goals in a 9-0 victory for Arsenal’s U18s against Norwich.

The 16-year-old has scored a remarkable 28 goals in just 22 games this season, including 24 in his last seven matches.

The striker is naturally being tipped for a big future and will begin scholarship terms with Arsenal in the summer. That agreement will run for two years, but, when he turns 17 in November, the Gunners will be able to offer Obi-Martin his first professional contract.

Arsenal will be keen to do so as clubs from around Europe, including Ajax and Borussia Dortmund, have scouted the young striker.

The Gunners are fighting for the Premier League title this season, but developing and promoting young players is a key part of their project under manager Mikel Arteta.

The club worked hard to tie down talented midfielder Ethan Nwaneri to pro terms in March, beating off competition from Chelsea and Manchester City.

Arsenal are now looking to be aggressive in the youth market and bring in the best young players under the age of 16.
