Actor, choreographer and director Prabhu Deva’s next, which has maestro AR Rahman composing the music, went on the floors officially on Thursday (May 2). The actor released two posters featuring him with the Oscar-winning music director on his Instagram. AR Rahman and Prabhu Deva are teaming up after a gap of 25 years. An AR Rahman Musical

Directed by Manoj NS, founder and CEO of Behindwoods, the untitled film is expected to be a musical. Prabhu Deva took to his social media to share promotional posters announcing the beginning of the film’s shooting.

The promo posters feature Prabhu Deva and AR Rahman looking dapper in black suits, and reads, “25 Years of Pan Indian Swag!” while the second poster read “Laugh, Sing, and Dance Along!”

The post also featured a detailed list of the cast and crew of the upcoming project. The film’s cast will have Prabhu Deva, Yogi Babu, and Malayalam actors Aju Varghese, and Arjun Ashokan. Additionally, the names of the producers, Manoj NS, Divya Manoj and Dr. Praveen Elak, are mentioned. Manoj NS is set to write and direct the project.

The film is Behindwood’s first feature film production, and is going to be released in multiple languages including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. The actor and music director had released a poster in March announcing their collaboration, and fans have been waiting for shoot to begin ever since.

Prabhu Deva and AR Rahman, A Winning Combo

Prabhu Deva and AR Rahman have collaborated on several occasions in the past, creating memorable music and dance moments. Their iconic songs Muqabla and Urvashi from the 1994 film Kadhalan were a massive success. They have also worked together on tracks like Chiku Buku Raile in the 1993 movie Gentleman, Romeo Aatam in Mr. Romeo (1996), and Petta Rap in Kadhalan.
