Arrest following armed NSW siege

A man has been arrested by police near Wollongong following reports of shots being fired and a hostage taken.

A siege operation was under way at Windang un Sunday, with a series of road closures in place and members of the public urged to avoid the area.

Media reports suggest a masked man was seen firing shots outside a store.
