NARATHIWAT: A pickup taking soldiers of Ranger Company 4902 back to base was damaged by a roadside bomb in Chanae district on Sunday, police said.

The attack occurred about 2.10pm. The rangers were returning to base after assignments at polling stations in tambon Dusongyo.

The explosion, at a curve in the road between Kato and Nam Hom villages in tambon Dusongyo, slightly damaged the pickup.

Capt Yuthasak Khaosuwan, commander of Ranger Company 4902, received a minor injury to his left eye. Two other rangers, Phakphum Sithirak and Nuriman Kubosu, were briefly deafened by the explosion.
