Aprono all’Egizio il giardino e l’orto funerario

(ANSA) – TORINO, 30 APR – Aprono al pubblico, domani 1 maggio, sulla terrazza del museo i giardini dell’Egizio: l’orto e il giardino funerario. L’accesso è dalla Sala della vita al primo piano, dove sono esposte le mummie che testimoniano l’arco della vita, dall’infanzia alla vecchiaia. Il progetto, che ha l’obiettivo di fare dialogare il verde con la collezione e gli spazi museali, fa parte delle trasformazioni in corso per celebrare il bicentenario del museo.

“Si tratta di due giardini diversi. Uno è un giardino funerario come quello trovato in Egitto davanti a una tomba: un segno di rinascita legato al ciclo della natura, con piante con un valore simbolico come i fiordalisi. Abbiamo riprodotto la stessa struttura con quadrati di circa 35 centimetri, uno accanto all’altro, che formano una sorta di griglia, in ognuna delle quali c’è una pianta diversa. Il secondo è un orto sul modello di quelli posseduti dall’elite dell’Antico Egitto con frutta e verdure. E’ organizzato in griglie con bordi rialzato che servivano per conservare meglio l’acqua” spiega l’egittologo Cedric Gobeil che, con Divina Centore, ha curato il progetto.

Il giardino egizio – il primo in Italia – sarà accessibile ai visitatori che hanno acquistato il biglietto per il percorso museale. (ANSA).
