Infosys also recently asked some of its employees to be present in office for ten days in a month.
IT major HCLTech has asked its employees to work from office at least three days a week. It said that non compliance with this mandate will be treated as unauthorised absence and will call for disciplinary actions.
A mail from Vikas Sharma, global head, people function DFS (Digital Foundation Services), stated, “In line with HCLTech’s workplace policy, senior managers and the leadership team in DFS (E4 and above) have transitioned to a hybrid work model and work from office at least three days in a week. Effective February 19 the same hybrid work model will be applicable to all employees of Digital Foundation Services, including E0 to E3”.
The development comes on the back of larger peer TCS mandating employees working from office for all days in a week and recently set a deadline of March-end. It has said that failure to comply with work from office mandate will result in consequences. Because it has hired a large number of employees in last three years, the company wants to see these employees come to office and build bonds with their colleagues, Milind Lakkad, chief HR officer, had said during the earnings call following the announcement of the October-December quarter.
Wipro has also implemented a mandatory hybrid work policy effective November 15 last year, where all employees have to come to office at least three days in a week. A mail from Wipro’s chief human resource officer, Saurabh Govil, last quarter, said, “All employees must be present at their assigned office location for at least three days each week. This change aims to enhance teamwork, facilitate face-to-face interactions, and strengthen Wipro’s culture”.
