Anya Taylor-Joy Is a Statuesque Beauty in a Metal Minidress That Sculpts to Her Body
Anya Taylor-Joy may have missed the 2024 Met Gala, but she’s still delivering a high-fashion spectacle.
The actor presumably missed last night’s event due to press tour obligations for her new Mad Max prequel film, Furiosa. Instead of arriving at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, she stepped out at the St. Regis Hotel in Mexico City, where she embodied the essence of her warrior character in two extremely cool outfits.
First, Taylor-Joy wore a silver minidress made out of metal, a custom Balmain piece. The body-sculpting garment featured dozens of metallic rosettes, which were attached to the shoulders in bunches, before trailing off down the center of the bodice and the back.
She let the dress do most of the talking, accessorizing simply with clear strappy heels and a bright red lip.

In behind-the-scenes footage posted on Instagram yesterday, the Queen’s Gambit star revealed she quite literally had to be clasped into the one-of-a-kind dress, with her team clipping the two halves of the dress into place while she stood in the center.
Later in the day, Taylor-Joy changed into a second outfit. She continued to embrace Furiosa’s dystopian-future setting through her clothes, wearing a white leather set with extraneous straps hanging from silver metal hoops. This two-piece consisted of a cropped bolero with rounded shoulder pads and a zip-up miniskirt.
She completed the look with a plain black bandeau worn underneath the bolero, plus a pair of strappy white heels and gold hoop earrings.
