Anthony Davis Exits Lakers-Nuggets Game 5 After Trying to Fight Through Injury
Update: Anthony Davis was somehow able to return to the game in the fourth quarter. He’s doing everything he can for his Lakers.
Previously: Anthony Davis had been enjoying a relatively healthy season, but his luck took a turn for the worse in Game 5 of the Lakers-Nuggets NBA Playoff series on Monday night.
With the Lakers holding a 56-50 lead in the third quarter, Davis sustained an injury when he was bumped by Michael Porter Jr. in the post. Davis remained on the ground for several minutes, clutching his shoulder/neck area, before being helped to his feet.
Despite his evident discomfort, Davis attempted to continue playing, but it was clear that he was struggling, as he could only effectively use one arm for the next few minutes.
Eventually, the veteran forward was forced to leave the game due to the injury.
It’s unclear if the Lakers superstar will be able to return to the action.
