Ant and Dec's disbelief at items I'm A Celeb cast tried to smuggle back to camp

Asia's Tech News Daily

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is back in full swing after being forced off the air due to stormy weather – and the stars of the show got busted trying to smuggle extra supplies into camp when they returned following the storms.

Show hosts Ant and Dec revealed on Wednesday nights’ episode of the ITV series that some of the campmates had tried to return to the show set with various supplies concealed on their persons.

And among the items were breakfast bars, apples, stock cubes, sweets and even fake tan and a nail file.

But the celebs should have guessed that they wouldn’t be able to get the items back into their camp – and indeed the show hosts were on hand to mock them for even trying as they showed off the items the stars had tried to conceal.

Showing the items to the cameras, Ant and Dec shared their astonishment at the hoard of items – which also included some Vaseline and ground pepper.

A show source told The Sun of the attempted smuggling: “Producers knew that the celebs would try and be a bit tricky on their way in so were well prepared for it. They checked everyone’s belongings, coats, pockets — even their socks.

“It was comical how much they found. Everything got confiscated and each of them was given a slap on the wrist and sent on their way.

“Kadeena might look like butter wouldn’t melt, but she was by far the worst offender, packing her stuff with sweets, and other stuff.

“Bosses saw the funny side of it and you can’t blame the celebs given they’ve got at least another week in grim conditions to get through.”

It has been claimed Corrie star Simon Gregson tried to take in three beef Oxo cubes, ground pepper and some Vaseline.

Kadeena Cox tried to make her way back in to camp with two apples, a handful of Werther’s Originals and Frutellas and an Oxo cube.

While Snoochie Shy tried to take in some breakfast biscuits and Danny Miller tried to smuggle in coffee sachets.

The smuggling incidents follows a similar stunt performed by Naughty Boy when the celebs first entered the cast last month – and long before they were evacuated due to Storm Arwen.

The music producer smuggled some spices into his socks in the hopes of adding some flavour and seasoning to camp meals.

But the star confessed he had the cooking supplies – and explained all in the castle telegraph on day one: “Before I left, I grinded some spices that could make rice and beans actually taste a bit nice so what I did, I put it in my sock.

“There’s cumin seeds, cloves, turmeric, coriander seeds. If you could smell this. Wow. And black peppercorns.”

While he told his campmates: “I had whole organic spices so I crushed some and I put it in cling film and I put it in my sock.

“I thought I was going to add it to the rice and beans and make it taste better but I asked them if it was ok if I used a bit because we’re suffering enough as it is and they confiscated it.”
