Ant and Dec shelter under umbrellas while Storm Arwen rages on as I'm A Celebrity fans celebrate their return

I'M A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! fans celebrated as the series made it back to air after the devastating Storm Arwen.

Showing that Storm Arwen was still a present threat, hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly sheltered under huge umbrellas to welcome viewers back to the Castle.

Ant and Dec shelter under umbrellas while Storm Arwen rages on as I’m A Celebrity fans celebrate their return

Ant and Dec opened the comeback episode of I'm A Celeb under umbrellas as Storm Arwen raged on

The show was forced off the air due to the extreme weather conditions and severely damaged the production village.

Production crew have been working tirelessly to repair the damage the storm did to Gwrych Castle.

Ant and Dec stood outside the castle with only the umbrellas to shield them against the chilly and wet 8-degree evening.

After a montage of the first few episodes and an ominous news report on Storm Arwen, the hosts appeared under the umbrellas.

“It's been a crazy few days,” Dec started and Ant added, “but the castle is back in business.”

“And for 11 famous faces the journey continues,” Dec continued, with Ant finishing the sentence, “the clouds have almost cleared here on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.”

A row of fires burst out of the ground behind them.

The pair then dashed into the studio as Declan jumped down the stairs in joy and Ant declared, “I can't tell you how good it feels to be back.”

They then showed fans footage of the damage the storm wreaked on the I'm A Celeb production village.

Viewers saw how the temporary structures were brought down and the roof ripped off, as the hosts shouted out their thanks to the “lads and lasses” who worked tirelessly to get the show up and running again.

Ant and Dec also explained where the celebs stayed after they were ushered to safety from the storm.

“The celebs were taken to seperate locations with no phones, no internet, no TV and no access to the outside world,” Ant explained.

Fans were pumped to have the hosts back and couldn't wait to see what the celebs were up to.

“I’ve missed @antanddec’s faces on the telly. I only it was only 3 days but still…” wrote one happy fan on Twitter.

Another added: “Woohoo I’m a celeb is back on I’m so happyyy.”

And a third wrote: “ITS BACK BABY”

The celebrities were removed from Gwrych Castle in North Wales, and only essential crew remained on site.

The bad weather caused a tree to crash into the castle, leaving no option but to take the celebs to safety.

I’m A Celeb did not air from November 27 to 29, 2021, because of the damage the storm caused to the set.

Appearing on Instagram live, hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly told fans that “the site was quite badly damaged during the storm” but that the team was “working round the clock to try and get it back up and running and up to speed so we can get back on air as quick as humanly possible”.
