‘Another Joe moment’: President criticised for latest ‘xenophobic’ blunder
Sky News contributor Kosha Gada has criticised President Joe Biden for calling Japan and India “xenophobic” in his latest blunder.
The President was delivering a speech at a campaign fundraising event when he started discussing the growth of America’s economy due to its rapid immigration.
“Think about it. Why is China stalling so badly economically? Why is Japan having trouble? Why is Russia? Why is India? Because they’re xenophobic. They don’t want immigrants,” he said.
Following the incident, the White House said President Biden meant no offence to either country, according to the BBC.
“People are framing this as another gaffe, but I would actually say this one is not so much a gaffe as it is a revealing moment,” Ms Gada told Sky News host Sharri Markson.
“It shows, I think, what the Biden administration and the left side of politics in liberal democracies everywhere sees as the highest order virtuous calling, which is diversity at all costs and unlimited immigration basically at all costs.”
