Anna Daly emotionally waved goodbye to her Ireland AM family earlier this month and now she’s set to start a new TV role.
The presenter recently left the popular morning show after ‘many awesome years’ and penned a heartfelt tribute to her friends and colleagues just last week.
And now Anna’s next big venture has been revealed, with her swapping Virgin Media for a panellist role on RTÉ’s Today show.
The Today show’s Twitter account confirmed the news, saying they’re ‘so excited to be back with a tenth season’ and new host in Emer O’Neill.
So excited to be back for our 10th season. New presenter Emer O’Neill, we have a new set, food with @eunicepower, @darrenstanton a human lie detector, we have Joe O’Shea, @daly_anna, and @aoifegracemoore on the panel and our profile guests @the2johnnies. Also joining Anna on the panel is Aoife Moore while chef Eunice Power and broadcaster Joe O’Shea will also feature on the show.
Anna’s Ireland AM exit came amid a big shakeup at Virgin Media which also saw Elaine Crowley’s show axed and Karen Koster swap roles with Muireann O’Connell.
Other presenters are currently missing from their shows which a source inside Virgin said came as a surprise to many amid reports the station is up for sale.
Announcing her Ireland AM exit, Anna explained that she’d been offered an exciting new role with The Communications Clinic and wanted to devote more time to her fledgling clothing line, Little Bliss.
The star did tease that she’d be back on our screens soon, reassuring fans at the time that she did have ‘other TV projects that I’m excited about in the near future’.
Monday’s first edition of the Today Show will see new host in Emer, who co-presented two shows in May alongside Dáithí Ó Sé, return to the set once again while Sinéad Kennedy continues her maternity leave.
Bray native Emer said of her role on the show: ‘To get the call to come back again for a while is a dream come true.
‘Dáithí, Maura and the whole team have made me feel so welcome. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and meeting some great guests.’
Daithí was also buzzing about The Today Show’s return, saying: ‘Ten seasons – who’d ever have thought it? I’m just delighted to get the gang back together. We’ve a new set and we’re ready and rearing to go. Emer did a great job last May, so she’ll fit right in.’Internet Explorer Channel Network
