West Ham may welcome Jarrod Bowen back for tomorrow night’s crucial European meeting with Bayer Leverkusen, but will have to make do without star playmaker Lucas Paqueta.

Bowen has not featured since limping off in the 2-1 victory at Wolves earlier this month but returned to training on Wednesday and manager David Moyes says he will make a late decision over the Englishman’s fitness.

The availability of Bowen, who has 19 goals in all competitions this term, would give Moyes a significant boost as his side look to come from 2-0 down after the first-leg to reach the Europa League semi-finals.

West Ham will be without both Emerson and Lucas Paqueta because of suspension after the pair each picked up their third yellow cards of the campaign during last week’s first-leg in Germany.

Konstantinos Mavropanos is also set to miss out through injury after limping off late in Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Fulham.

However, Edson Alvarez is back after missing the trip to Leverkusen through suspension, while Kalvin Phillips also trained on Wednesday for the first time since picking up a hamstring problem to further strengthen Moyes’s midfield options.

First-choice goalkeeper Alphonse Areola is also back in contention after a groin strain, but Lukasz Fabianski has been preferred in Europe this term and is expected to keep his place on the occasion of his 39th birthday.

West Ham predicted XI: Fabianski; Coufal, Zouma, Aguerd, Cresswell; Soucek, Alvarez, Ward-Prowse; Kudus, Antonio, Bowen

Doubts: Bowen, Mavropanos, Areola, Phillips

Suspended: Emerson, Paqueta

Time and date: 8.00pm BST on Thursday, April 18, 2024,

Venue: London Stadium
