Amir, Kyrgyz president discuss ways to enhance relations

Bishkek:His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President of the friendly Kyrgyz Republic HE Sadyr Japarov held an official talks session on Wednesday at Ala Archa State Residence in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek.

At the outset of the session, President of the Kyrgyz Republic welcomed HH the Amir and the accompanying delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay.

The Kyrgyz president stressed the importance of His Highness’s visit, especially since HH the Amir is the first Arab leader to pay an official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, expressing hope that the visit will push for more cooperation between the two countries in various fields. He also affirmed Kyrgyzstan’s keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation with Qatar.

For his part, HH the Amir expressed his thanks to the Kyrgyz President for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, and emphasized the importance of the visit, which coincides with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations between the two countries, looking forward that the visit will contribute to the development of cooperation between the two countries in various fields in a way that achieves the aspirations and interests of the two friendly peoples.

During the session, bilateral relations between the two countries and means to enhance and develop them in various fields, especially in the areas of economy, finance, customs, military and legal cooperation, agriculture, food security, health and sports were discussed, in addition to the most important regional and international issues and developments of common concern.

The official talks session was attended by Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of Culture HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, and a number of senior officials members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Amir.

On the Kyrgyz side, it was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Kulubaev Zheenbek, Minister of Economy and Commerce HE Amangeldiev Daniyar, Minister of Defense HE Bekbolotov Baktybek, Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy HE Maksutov Altynbek, Minister of Environment and Agriculture HE Melis Turgunbaev, and Minister of Justice HE Baetov Ayaz Batyrkulovich, and a number of senior Kyrgyz officials.

HH the Amir and the Kyrgyz president had held a bilateral meeting during which they discussed aspects of supporting and developing relations between the two friendly countries and a number of issues of mutual interest.

HH the Amir attended the luncheon banquet hosted by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on Wednesday in honour of His Highness in Ala Archa National Park.
